Import duty on gold and platinum raised in union budget 2010

 Pranab Mukherjee proposed Indian budget 2010 today. he has just finished his budget speech. Import duty on gold and platinum is raised to rs. 300 per ten gram from previous Rs. 200.

However, import duty on Rhodium (Used for polishing and coating) is reduced significantly to 2 percent from previous ten percent. This will have positive impact on Jewelry industry which largely use this metal.

October recorded growth in export of Color stones and Diamonds

Color stones (Gemstones) and Diamond export of India has recorded growth in the month of October instead of down fall in export of Jewelry in the same period. Rising of Gold price affected Jewelry export badly.
This is an achievement by Jaipur Gemstone dealers (Jaipur contributes most in Indian exports of Color stones and some in Diamonds) in this period of global slow down.

India exports mainly to America and America is facing severe economic crisis.
