Jaipur Jewellery (Jewelry) show 2010

Jaipur Jewellery show will be commencing from tomorrow December, 24, 2010 at Rajmahal Palace hotel. JJS will last between December 24 and 27, 2010. This is the second biggest Jewelry show in India after Mumbai IIJS.  There will be 400 stalls and 270 exhibitors in the Jaipur Jewelry show. Theme of this show is Kundan Meena. Thirty five thousand visitors are expected to view the show during the four days.

JJS is both  B2B and B2C fair. The exhibitors of the show can show their merchandise both to the jewelers and customers  coming from different regions of India and overseas. Normally JJS promotes a gemstone every year. However, they are promoting Kundan Meena, a special kind of Indian classical jewelry this year.

Jaipur Jewellery show is organized by a private group of jewelers and gem dealers in Jaipur convened by Vimal Chand Surana, a prominent jeweler and gem dealer in Jaipur.

Nirmal baradia group won Jaipur Jewelers Association election

Jaipur: May 09, 2010

Nirmal Baradia group won the election of Jaipur Jewelers Association.
Members of Jaipur Jewelers Association voted to chose their executive committee members. This was a bi-annual (2010-12) election.

Two major groups were contesting in this election of Jewelers Association, Jaipur.

One group was headed by Nirmal Baradiya. that won the election. They have bagged eight seats out of twelve. Pramod Agrawal (Derewala) group bagged rest of four seats. Other members of Nirmal Baradiya group who won in the election are Arun Gokhru, Rajesh Dhamani, Sanjay Kala, Dilip Godika, Pramod Lodha, Namrata Ghiya and Vijay Jaju.

Anil Bumb, Rajendra Sabu and AshokAshok Singhi are the other winners from Pramod Derewala group. There was a tie between Kamal Kothari and Ashok Singhi. Kamal Kothari withdrew in favor of Ashok Singhi.

Both the group heads Nirmal Baradiya and Pramod Derewala have won the election.

Import duty on gold and platinum raised in union budget 2010

 Pranab Mukherjee proposed Indian budget 2010 today. he has just finished his budget speech. Import duty on gold and platinum is raised to rs. 300 per ten gram from previous Rs. 200.

However, import duty on Rhodium (Used for polishing and coating) is reduced significantly to 2 percent from previous ten percent. This will have positive impact on Jewelry industry which largely use this metal.

October recorded growth in export of Color stones and Diamonds

Color stones (Gemstones) and Diamond export of India has recorded growth in the month of October instead of down fall in export of Jewelry in the same period. Rising of Gold price affected Jewelry export badly.
This is an achievement by Jaipur Gemstone dealers (Jaipur contributes most in Indian exports of Color stones and some in Diamonds) in this period of global slow down.

India exports mainly to America and America is facing severe economic crisis.
